Product Name EXTERNAL GAS MOLDING (EGM)
Description EGM works by Injecting gas to form a thin layer of gas between one surface of the plastic and the adjacent mould cavity surface.
Using the gas to apply pressure to the plastic whilst cooling, forces it against the opposite mould cavity to improve surface replication and heat transfer.
EGM is used primarily for thin-walled applications and was developed to remedy molded surface imperfections.

LIQUID COOL

Description Liquid Cool is a new, high-pressure, water process which both complements and extends gas assisted moulding. It uses the heat transfer capabilities of water to speed up the cooling of molten plastic. This allows for more efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.

The technology essentially flushes water through the moulding during the cooling process. As the heat capacity of water is significantly higher than that of gas, the process allows for the overall cycle time of a product to be reduced.

This is a new approach to the use of water that causes little disruption to established injection moulding processes but that meets the demands of customers worldwide.

OPTIFOAM

Description Cinpres will be highlighting the benefits of a new process – Optifoam – a retrofit system option for extrusion, using a foaming technique and physical blowing agents.

This provides an easy replacement for chemical blowing agents and can deliver significant cost-savings in extruded product.
The main advantages of Optifoam include improved melt and product quality, and no screw modifications. The foaming process also enables reductions in material density.
The Optifoam system can be mounted on any extrusion line independently from the manufacturer.

PLASTIC EXPULSION PROCESS (PEP)

Description The Plastic Expulsion Process, exclusively licensed through Cinpres, is particularly suited to components with a combination of tick and thin sections. Solid parts of components can be cored-out with this technique.

WATER ASSISTED MOLDING (WAM)

Description Water Assisted Molding (WAM) is a further addition to the Cinpres range offering benefits to existing methods of assisted molding.

The process can be used effectively to reduce cooling times by up to 50 per cent of that of traditional gas molding, predominantly used for producing thick section tubular parts.

Based on the Plastic Expulsion Process (PEP) – patented and licensed by Cinpres Gas Injection – WAM molds hollow or partly hollow components by injecting water into the molten plastic in the mold and gives core-out with a smoother interior surface finish and reduced cycle times.

Direct cooling inside the part presents a significant advancement in the market of assisted molding. The thermal conductivity and heat capacity of water is significantly higher than that of gas, allowing a more rapid cooling process and greater productivity to the end user.
