"We have met new customers and the people coming onto the stand are genuine enquiries, not just visitors coming to chew the fat. The new technology we had on display has been generating interest."
Matthew Holyoake, southern sales engineer, Arburg
"It has been an excellent show. Really good. We will come away with 30-40 leads. They are decision makers - engineers, managing directors - the manufacturers who use our tools."
Carl Jones, sales for Vargus Tooling exhibiting for the first time.
“This was RJG Technologies UK’s first show since acquiring G&A Moulding Technology and enabled us to showcase the comprehensive tools and training we can now provide as part of the RJG Group of companies. The show was well attended by the industry and the visitors we met on our stand had specific needs. This led to a good level of enquiries which were 50% up from G&A Moulding Technology last attendance at PDM in 2014. The show was also an ideal platform to maintain the profile of G&A and also introduce the RJG brand to the market. Overall an excellent show, a good venue and a well organised event by the PDM team.”
Richard Brown, Managing Director, G&A Moulding Technology
“The show was good and we will do the show again next year. The show is well organised and all staff involved very helpful and friendly.
“We had interest from automotive aerospace and medical so good leads to follow up on. Our stand was commented on being one of the best there and customers were pleased to see our 220t with IML running. We had no samples left at the end of the show which is a good sign!”
Neil Bathard, National Sales Manager, Romi Machines UK
“PDM was yet another great show for us this year, it provided excellent networking opportunities with both new and existing clients. As a result, we’ve already booked for 2016.”
Sarah Coggle, Sales Office Manager, Luxus Ltd
“We had an extremely good PDM, our exhibit of a new Borche BS80t machine created a great deal of interest and was very well received, we secured two machine orders, one from a new customer and one from an existing customer together with a good number of positive leads, in conclusion we would regard this as a positive event in which more than met our expectations”
Terry O’Reilly, Sales Director, Borche UK
"The show was very successful for us. It is a tremendously useful opportunity for meeting existing customers but, even after 10 years, PDM never fails to impress as a forum for making new contacts and discussing new projects. We thank everyone who came and visited us and encourage those that didn't make it this time to come and see us next year."
Philip Watkins, Managing Director, Gabriel-Chemie UK LTD
Stuart Lovett, Marketing Manager Rutland Plastics
“We had a couple of interesting enquiries yesterday including one visitor who first discovered us at PDM 13 and came back specifically to meet us at the show again this year to discuss a new project”
"It has become a vital part of our overall marketing mix. It helps to maintain the profile of Rutland Plastics and provides us with the opportunity to display our capabilities"
Simon Wrighton, Sales Director, Arburg
“We had a good level of enquiries from new and existing customers so it was well worth coming. Having a working machine on the stand is expensive but well worth it in our opinion to give visitors something to look at and talk about. You can watch a video anywhere.”
Dr Peter Cox, Chairman, Plastics Consultancy Network
“The Plastics Consultancy Network (PCN) provided 19 consultants for the “Ask the Consultant” stand at PDM who assisted over 50 visitors. The number of visitors was over 50% up on those in 2013. There was a good crossover of visitors from the PRE show. PCN member John Duncan demonstrated his identiPol polymer analysis equipment which can identify polymers and also be used as a QC unit. Visitors’ samples were analysed for composition and also as a potential means for checking the consistency of recycled polymers used in a production process.
Areas where “Ask the Consultant” provided assistance included: suggested uses for recycled materials, moulding problems from a multi cavity tool, the use of coatings on polymers, specific specialist knowledge of an uncommon polymer and how to convert a product being made from wood into a plastic product which involved moulding and decoration”
Simon Colbeck, General Merchandise Head of Innovation and Quality, Marks and Spencer
“I thought it was a really good show and just the right mix of conference sessions and stands to give me such a broad spectrum of the industry in one slice. The session presented by David Jones was really thought-provoking. I thought the central theme of sustainability worked really well. I was particularly impressed with the new materials innovation we saw, and great to see how the commercialisation of 3-D printing has developed with the likes of Renshaw. I have collected lots of information and have lots of companies to follow up with when I get back.”
Katherine Kynaston, Business & Development Planning Manager at Telford & Wrekin Council
“Located at the heart of a cluster of more than 200 plastics companies, we are very proud to continue to be the destination of choice for PDM – a leading industry event. As PDM continues to grow at a steady pace to include Plastics Recycling Expo and Plastic Packaging Show, we see the event as key to helping local business identify supply chain opportunities and trade links as well as to highlight Telford’s competitive investment offer to the range of industry experts that attend the show year on year. From supporting PDM our town has welcomed international visitors and investors from across the world.”
Graham Whatley, designer, Gekko Design Studio
“Physical research is so important. I’m all for events that release interesting materials in a physical form.” He added “So a Plastics in Packaging Show would be really great.”

Chris Buxton, CEO, PMMDA (a PPMA Group Association)
“Anyone who has been to PDM in the past will know that it strikes an excellent chord between a high quality conference and a forum at which new products and services for the polymer and plastics industry can be showcased. I would recommend that any company or individual with an interest in this sector would be unwise to miss this excellent event in 2013.”
Graham Herlihy, Managing Director, Engel
